Cold, Dry and Lots of Smiles .................
Lesson 1 :This group - Ethan & George Bradley & Conker, Fiona & Shamus, Chris & Rupert and Kim & Sultan - used the coloured markers to ride school shapes more accurately. The group rode in walk and trot.
After several changes of pony in recent weeks it was lovely to see Bradley beam as he rode Conker - a partnership to watch !
Lesson 2 : The focus remained on accuracy and using the coloured markers to ride bends and changes of rein. The group - Courtney & Rupert, Beth & Shamus, Lucy & Ivan, Daisy & Sultan and Damaris & Conker - each worked on special areas.
Courtney surprised herself as she rode Rupert with no stirrups and escorted - huge smile ! Mrs Webb said how much Courtney helped everyone get organised for riding. Beth made Shamus work hard - and again big smiles ! Daisy had a lovely seat and kept a nice straight back. Damaris concentrated and used her legs a lot to keep Conker moving. Lucy steered Ivan nicely and used a stick to help her straighten her riding position.
Lesson 3 : A change of focus for this lesson - we used the poles and markers to make games. Up the school placing bean bags and ducks (well it has been wet) into the markers, round the pole and back - collecting everything up ! Lots of shouting to support the riders - Tabitha & Ferdie, Noah & Bertie, Cody & Ivan and Orla & Harvey. Orla and Harvey tried a new felt saddle - but Orla find the sheepskin more comfortable.
